Barry Whistler Gallery is pleased to present of Scott Barber’s works on canvas from 1995-1996. Coming on the heels of last year’s Paintings on Polyfiber exhibition, this show continues our chronological retrogressive examination of Barber’s career. 

This select group of work from a highly prolific point early in his career shows a flourishing use of color from a wide variety of palettes. Barber’s confident use of pop imagery and rich color creates a cohesive body of highly imaginative work, though he had graduated from the masters program at SMU just one year before.

 With this exhibition, we hope to finish our survey of Scott Barber’s estate showing the complete picture of his fascinating and expansive body of work.

Barber, an artist based in Dallas, passed away in April of 2005 from complications due to Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.
